Materials

  • Drawing Paper. This is the good stuff you can buy in bulk for a good price.
  • Pencils. I like how this brand always makes nice dark lines.
  • Black Marker. A permanent marker will give you a dark black color.
  • Crayons. The larger packs are nice for more color choices.

Step by Step Directions

Time needed: 1 hour

Abe Lincoln Drawing

  1. Draw a shape which will be the head and the bottom edge of the beard.

  2. Add the inside lines shown for the hair and the beard.

  3. Draw an ear and add the outline of the hair on top.

  4. Add two eyes and the cheekbone. Erase the gray lines shown.

  5. Draw the two eyebrows, the nose and the mouth.

  6. Add small lines on the face to indicate some wrinkles.

  7. Start the jacket by drawing the lapel and the shoulders of the jacket.

  8. Finish the drawing with a bow tie, shirt collar and two vest lines.

  9. Trace the drawing with a marker and color it with crayons.
