Range - South America.

Eichhornia azurea, eichhornia aquatica - the plant has narrow ribbon-like, light green leaves sitting in two rows on the stem. The stem of Eichornia azure is long and has an interesting structure: the part of the stem located under water has short internodes, but its above-water part has long ones. The emergent leaves are oval-rounded, with a ribbed surface, and have a long petiole.

The bright green leaves reach a length of 8 cm and a width of 7 cm. The underwater form of Eichornia azure has an alternate arrangement of leaves. The leaf blade of the plant has a narrow linear shape, reaching a length of 15 cm and a width of 1 cm. The appearance of the blunt-pointed apex of the leaf blade of eichornia resembles a palm tree. The beautiful inflorescences of the plant look like hyacinth.

Lighting likes bright from 70 Lm/l. The temperature should be 22-28° C. Eichornia azure is unpretentious to the composition of water: hardness 2-16°, pH 4-7, temperature 18-28° C. Filtration, flow and weekly changes of up to 25% of the water volume are required.
