FISH COLLECTION RECORD : RASBORA SPECIES
Long Band Rasbora (rasbora einthoveni)
When I first collected this rasbora, I thought it was Rasbora sarawakensis. After observing it for sometimes, I discovered that it is  long band rasbora. They are found either in clearwater or blackwater stream.
Scissor Tailed Rasbora (rasbora trilineata)
It is a common rasbora in the clear water stream and less  common in black water stream. However, we found it in a stream far away from  Kuching city. (found in a upper Kayan river)It looks like with the spot-tailed and sumatran rasbora.
Sumatran Rasbora (rasbora sumatrana)
This is a common rasbora which can be found  almost  anywhere.
Spot-tailed Rasbora (rasbora caudimaculata)
Red Stripe Rasbora (rasbora pauciperforata)
This beauty was found in black water stream only. Like most  of the rasbora species, they like to bump with each others using their bodies  when a pair of them swimming side by side and open their mouths widely (territory display behaviour). This  strange behavior is not mating but just having fun together while swimming side  by side.
Rasbora pauciperforata -  The strip of this Redline rasbora is not red in color. Its brownish colored. A black strip is running parallel with that brownish strip above.
Crown Rasbora (rasbora kalochroma)
Some crown rasbora got black line in between 2 spots
It is a common rasbora in blackwater stream.
Sarawak Rasbora (rasbora sarawakennsis)
It is a common rasbora in clearwater stream. Previously, i thought it was rasbora magnificient.
Rasbora rutteni??
They were found in some clearwater streams where there is  little or non existent of common magnificent rasbora. Their fully grown size for  adult is around 15cm.
Bangka Rasbora (rasbora bankanensis)
There is a tiny black spot on the anal fin.
Rasbora rutteni ?? (anal fin no spot)
We found it in a stream near  Batu Kawa. It is similar to  Rasbora above except there is no spot on the anal fin.
Unknown rasbora - Looks like rasbora bankanensis & "white" rasbora in the above. The adult length is 4.5cm (female).
Redtail / Magnificent Rasbora (rasbora borapotensis)
We found it in a small drain and small river about 10 miles from Kuching city. We are surprised that they could survive in the slightly polluted water. Later, i also found them in some river in between Kuching and Serian town.
It only found in large clearwater river and near brackish water area.
Rasbora tornieri
The river where i found this rasbora at Bau (upper Sarawak river)
