Must be one of the best tanks I have ever seen . If I only had the space I will move my Sumatran Red Gobis to a tank like this without thinking twice. Stunning dude
Thank you. This tank is very rewarding. I have been contemplating to convert my 4ft into a river as well... Where did you get your gobies? They are hard to come by. Especially down here.
Well done with the fry. I'm currentlyy setting up a 2ft river tank at work, due to this thread. Can't wait to move my "hill stream" fishes to their new tank. Lights have been on for 3 days now, LED downlighters, but need to wait for good alge growth before they get moved. Can't believe how we try to get algie to grow and others want to get rid of it :icon
Awesome! Which ''hill stream'' fish do you have? I have to warn you about the light and algae. This tank has gone through algae phases: Rhizo, HAIR, more hair, BBA, BBA and Clado, no BBA but clado, clado and green algae. You'd want only the green algae on the rocks, and it takes time to get there.
I plan to move my 2 new hilstream loaches, bought them just for this tank. I have a lone Geco Loach. I also have 5 Sumatran Red Gobies and 4 River Rock Gobies (if I remember their name right). I'm only planning on moving 2 of each of the last 2 to the new tank as they do rather good in my 4ft comunity tank and don't want to overstock the 2ft. The LED downlighters work very good at getting alge growing on the rocks. Found this out by accident on my previous 1ft work tank when all fish were removed but tank with plants left running for a while.
You've got some nice fish! Wish I can get some more gobies. The gecko loach is the Homaloptera smithii which will eat fry. Which Hillstream Loaches do you have? If it's Sewellia I will kill you
